Some companies you should know about

I’ve worked with some wonderful companies over the last year. I will, inevitably, write a self-promotional piece about what I’ve been up to with them, but until then I thought I’d just put them on your radar since they’re all great companies. Some you might know, others you won’t—yet. In no particular order:

Spoke
Solving fit by offering every garment in LOADS of sizes and finishing to order. This idea of ‘almost bespoke’ is going to get bigger. It makes so much sense. Sign up for their emails — they’re quite hilarious.

Finisterre
Outdoor wear for those that love the sea. Some wonderful product stories like the wetsuit made from recycled fishing nets and the commissioned knitwear inspired by fishing villages.

Tech Will Save Us
Getting the next generation of kids comfortable with hands-on tech. Not screens, but wires and circuit boards. Get your kids playing with conductive dough and wireless charging.

Gousto
The recipe box that makes it easy (even I did it) to make exciting food. A growing category and I love what these guys stand for.

Cubitts
A rare kind of company. High quality, handmade spectacles at a much lower price than they could get away with. They’re in it for the long game — more on this brand in a future post.

Biteable
Make a professional video in a few seconds. In a category where most companies kill their usability in favour of complex customisation, these chaps have got the balance bang on.

Proper Corn
Chocolate popcorn. Yeah I said it. There’s a bit of a Willy Wonka vibe at Proper. They even invent new machinery to reinvent certain snacks… ahem, properly.
